Film
Since I was young, I was always captivated by the power of film and television to bring different worlds to life and to leave the viewer with an impactful message. All of my films can be found here.
My FRIEND LUCIUS
A young man named Robbie battles with the personification of his anxiety and depression, a man in a suit named Lucius.
A homeless man named Carl searches for a meal to eat, in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, New York, interacting with the members of the neighborhood. Shot on an Arri SR2 Camera on 16 mm film.
“2 HOURS” With 8 Ball
8-Ball is an artist’s collective based out of Manhattan, NYC. They print zines, hold community meetings and support local musical acts. They also have their own online radio and online television channels. I submitted this piece to their “2 Hours” television show; a 2 hour programming block of various news and entertainment clips edited together. My show, aired shortly after the beginning of the George Floyd protests, is a meditation on Blackness, violence, and revolution.
Didn't your momma tell you that TV rots your brain? (Another cutting edge Black satire. It's like the Boondocks or something.)
“And I saw Tantalus in violent torment, standing in a pool, and the water came nigh unto his chin. He seemed as one athirst, but could not take and drink...”
Every action has a consequence. Someone is always watching.
